/dehoist

The /dehoist command allows you to remove special characters from the beginning of a user's nickname.

Channel member list is displayed alphabetically in Discord. Some members abuse this by adding special characters to the beginning of their nickname. This causes their name to appear at the top of the member list. This command is useful for removing these special characters.

Parameters

member

the member to dehoist

The dehosting will fail if,

  • the target member outranks the command user

Having the Manage Server permission bypasses this requirement.

  • the target member outranks lutfen

Disallowed characters

The disallowed characters are !"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`{|}~ along with any whitespace character. (The space character, the tab character, the newline character, the carriage return character, the form feed character, and the vertical tab character.)

If the displayed name is entirely composed of these characters, the username will be used instead. If the username is also entirely composed of these characters, a new nickname will be created using the user's ID.
